I think, like a lot of people who have came to these books AFTER watching the series that they would not perhaps enjoy them as much. How wrong. Obviously as with books over film adaptations,the characters are fleshed out better and you really do get a feel of each individual.

A gripping read throughout,well written and already an established classic be compared with Rings and Dune. I can’t wait for the next illustrated book in the series. An incredible book. I really liked the way the book concentrated each chapter on one particular character at a time. I read this series a few years ago, it’s one of my favourites. I wanted to get nice hardback edition and this one is great. I like the black background with gold and silver details.

The illustration, black and white and also colour are amazing. Don’t splurge on hardback editions unless if the book is part of my favourite reads and this one is definitely is part of that slim list.

Report abuse. I can’t help but admire A Game of Thrones. Seriously, the amount of work that has visibility gone into the creation of this book, the plot and the characters is beyond belief.

It’s truly a colossal piece of literature, and not just in length. Even if you dislike this book with the burning rage of a thousand dragons, you have to take a moment to admire the pure skill it has taken to create A Game of Thrones.
