It required numerous restarts. I allowed the computer to deal with the sequencing and everything seemed to be fine. I use Open Office as my word processor and nothing will print from that either. The worst thing is that I rely on the Windows XP driver for this printer to print from a very old piece of software that is essential to what I do.
That program will not even find the printer now. I checked every piece of software that I have on this computer for printer compatibility just prior to this “update”. Every program worked just fine. Now none of them will work with my printer with or without the driver updates from the manufacturer.
I checked my Windows Update History and it has been totally wiped out! I cannot even undo what that stupid update did.
If I cannot print and I cannot remove the update, then Windows 10 has, essentially ruined my PC and screwed everything up that I needed to do. Seriously, Microsoft, you should perfect your work before imposing it on people’s computers. Your need for control does not trump my right to be able to use my own equipment. This thread is locked.
