I’m not sure I want some third party look at my photos and identifying who the people are in them. Just me I guess. You can not turn on this feature when you install the program, but I would not be surprised that it ignores this and that is one of the reasons trying to scrape copies of my photos. The install claims that you can turn off third party data sharing in preferences but they have it so well hidden that I’ve not found it yet.

My advise, unless you are a hardcore photo image manipulator and don’t mind all the spyware going on in the background, get a copy of Gimp. As a long time user of Photoshop. CS4 and up, I found Photoshop elements having most of the functions that the full version has and for a lot less money. I also liked the one time buy and not a monthly payment. I used to update Photoshop Elements regularly, but then for a couple of years I tried the cloud subscription to an Adobe package, including the full-size Photoshop.

Now I’m back to Elements and I find that is all I really need. I can easily find what I need in Elements, and I don’t get that monthly bill. The seller is great. Please check Adobe community forum for research before you buy. The program is not so much. I’ve had adobe photo shop before and this one has great potential. But it will not open the photo editor. I ran trouble shooter and went to adobe web site for help. Apparently this is an ongoing problem. Reached out to Adobe and they were no help whatsoever.

Adobe trouble shooting is no help. Still does not work. I ordered a CD to avoid download issues. While trying to install on my Windows 7 desktop an error came up saying I didn’t have permissions to install. An online search said to go to the registry and change the permissions. I tried that – still didn’t work. The box says that it is Windows 7 compatible. I then tried loading this on to my Windows 10 laptop and it installed with no issues.

Not the machine I wanted to use this with, but at least it wasn’t a total loss. I wasted 17 hours trying to install this software on my HP computer running Windows — 6 hours attempting to install and searching for solutions on my own; — 7 hours on the Adobe Tech Support Chat Line; — 4 hours reinstalling other pristine software an Adobe Tech destroyed. Both gave up. In addition, I tied up the computer for 23 hours, downloading software they instructed me to download, attempting to correct the “issue”.

He then abandoned me by closing the case. The second Tech person, giving up, promised to “escalate” my “issue”. He asked for my phone number. Promised I would get a call the next day. No call came. That was more than a week ago. The “issue” is something called “Error 16”. An online search confirms that I am not alone: Many people have hit this stumbling block.

During my initial 6-hour installation attempt, I meticulously followed the instructions on Adobe’s website. After nothing worked, I contacted their Support people. Clearly, Adobe knows it, because they’ve received complaints about it.

The “issue” isn’t with the CD I bought, nor with my DVD drive, because one of their solutions involved my downloading the entire program from their site, attempting an install from that. Didn’t work. For the record, my computer is a Hewlett-Packard desktop, only a year old; has the latest Windows 10 version; is clean of viruses and malware; and has more than a Terabyte of unused space on disk.

As for me, I’ve owned a personal computer since , so I’m no novice. Adobe has a problem, not an issue. Someone at Adobe needs to buy a computer exactly like one of those that report Error 16, do a step-by-step install, and fix the problem. Meanwhile, I will return this useless software.

I had no choice but to buy this. Conveniently Apple Mojave does not work with my Adobe Elements version Which did everything i need and more. This version is slow as hell to load and locks up on occasion. Problems I never had with version Remember when Apple seemed to care about the customer! Installation failure finally fixed!!! I spent an hour searching for a fix for the recurring CD installation failure with an error code of 1. Then I finally found it for my 5-year-old Dell PC with Windows 10 from an Adobe support guy in Adobe’s Elements forum, after spending too much time reading Adobe’s useless suggestions on other Adobe pages.

It simply involves renaming a folder: Open your file manager. What relief!!! Ordered this software on disk, as my internet download speed is equivalent to ancient dial-up! Product would not successfully load onto Windows 10 new installed system.
